Eligibilty for Traffic Safety School
Read this before enrolling in Traffic Safety School. If you have questions, contact Traffic Safety School at (309) 268-8159. You are not eligible for Traffic Safety School:
- If you have enrolled in or taken the 4-hour Traffic Safety School class in the last 12 months then you are not eligible to take the 4-hour class again. All fees paid are nonrefundable.
- If you are under 18, you are not eligible to attend Traffic Safety School unless you have been to Court and have a Judge’s order.
- If you hold a CDL (Commercial Drivers License), you are not eligible to attend Traffic Safety School unless you have been to Court and have a Judge’s order.
Important class completion guidelines
The McLean County Circuit Court requires that you complete your traffic safety school class at least 30 days before your supervision termination date. Failure to complete your class at least 30 days BEFORE your supervision termination date will result in a conviction being placed on your record.
If you are taking the class outside of McLean County, you must mail the ORIGINAL certificate of completion to our office no later than 30 days before your termination date. Failure to verify the completion of your class will result in a conviction being placed on your record.
Registration information
If you received your ticket in McLean County and are eligible for Traffic Safety School:
- You may register for our online class with the McLean County Law and Justice Center when you pay your ticket.
- You will be registered for our online class and receive an email with an access code to take the class at your convenience.
- You must complete the class at least 30 days before your supervision date.
If you received a citation outside of McLean County and wish to take our class:
- Please call us at (309) 268-8159.
If you are ordered to take a class by the Court, you will need to register and pay through the McLean County Circuit Clerk's office (309.888.5001). 8-hour classes are offered six Saturdays per year on the Heartland campus from 8AM-5PM.
