Mursion Prior Learning Assessment (PLA) Pilot
The free Mursion Prior Learning Assessment (PLA) Pilot at Heartland is for those who have worked in early childhood education for at least one year. You can earn up to 12 college credit hours toward your Level 2 ECE Credential by completing the approximately one-hour remote assessment.
This PLA is not your average multiple choice, fill-in-the-blank test—it uses 21st century technologies to develop life-like scenarios in which you are evaluated on your interaction with avatars in a virtual classroom environment. The PLA rewards those who work in the ECE field for your knowledge and experience.
There is a residency requirement as outlined by the Illinois Community College Board, which states that all pilot participants must complete an additional 4.5 credit hours at Heartland. To participate in the PLA Pilot, please complete the enrollment form here: Prior Learning Assessment Pilot - Gateways to Opportunity (ilgateways.com) and then send it to: PLAinfo@inccrra.org. Once your eligibility is confirmed, you will be sent an email from the Mursion Project with the learner handout and next steps. Check your junk mail if you don’t hear back in a week or so.
Heartland Community College is pleased to partner with the Illinois Network of Child Care Resource and Referral Agencies in offering this exciting opportunity.
